okay kids, I think I'm finally going to make this friends only. because I feel paranoid. though I think I may be too lazy to go back and make everything friends only. that would take far too much effort. so from now on "omg, friends only!".
(also, Law and Order: Criminal Intent not only has the worst characters ever, their opening scenes are lame. yet I am watching the marathon. this says worlds about me)
Nahpui Quarter: you are mine enemy! *breaks out heavier objects than sticks* I can get to the last 2 "bosses" pretty regularly, but not beat the very last one. ugh.
today, I am moody. though I am happy at the moment because I think I found a solution to ratty sneezing and the ending theme to Samurai Champloo is playing (plus, the show is on tonight!)
my goal is to be non-judgemental like my Uncle. my Uncle is one of the coolest men you will ever meet, because when you meet him for the first time, you all ready know he won't judge you. even in my toughest years, he was kind and open to me. he never judged me for any of it. he has been amazing to the family ever since my Aunt (one of my dad's sisters and well, obviously also my Uncle's sister) died. he's who everyone can go to and has done some amazing things.
when rushing out of Tuesday, because I forgot what time we were having dinner...well, I never imagined I'd get to hear so many good stories. 90% of this is because of my Uncle. my hope for being close to my family would have died had it not been for him. he's a gem and I hope he's happy with whatever he chooses.
*this message brought to you by fearing seeing more family that has not been seen in about 10 years*
Multnomah County Animal Services is a big joke. someone explain why we have enough money to pay for more people to ticket dogs who are off leash, but not enough money for more dog areas. how about more money for animals in critical condition? what about abuse cases? no, just ticketing? fucking hell. we just saw someone get ticketed for walking their dog offleash in a rainy, empty park. a part of the park that is a pretty much 24 hour dog park during the weekdays. it is a law, yes, for the dogs to be on leash on the weekends...but for christ sake, no one is there on a rainy weekend but the dog owners. let us put our time and money into regulating people abusing their animals, etc. it just seems like a law that hurts more than it helps.
in non game related news, my mini-boys have their first vet appointment today. whenever I get new animals I like to take them in for a check up. it should be a pretty funny event. the mini-boys are still pretty skittish, but once they get a taste of the outside world they become "the wild mini-men!!!fdgjfd". they race in and out of the cage, stopping only to beat the crap out of eachother. basically, what happened the other day with the hoodie is now a daily event. what's so hilarious about it though is that they are terrified before they come out. you can't pick them up, etc. they will freak! but the second they wander out on their own (involving standing still for a good 3 minutes or so), they go crazy! popcorning, wrestling, and zooming in general. plus, they groom me so much my hands get wet. alas, they still fear pee on me. luckily, I know pee washes off.
*beats Guild Wars with a stick* take that mission! see, I beat it! I am not obsessed with beating the Nahpui Quarter mission, not in the least *pulls out hair*
I've decided I don't want to be responsible tomorrow. I want to magically find the money to buy more Buffy, Futurama, Samurai Champloo, and ATHF, then stay up all night watching them. who's with me?!
so my new boys (about 6 weeks old now *sniff* they're growing up so fast!) are still scared out of their minds 50% of the time. last night was a great bonding experience though <3. they've started walking onto my arm, as long as I don't move it and leave it in the cage. sometimes they even scurry up onto my shoulder! last night though, I was wearing the beloved hoodie of all rats. they kept running up my arm, into the hood, and beating the crap out of eachother. all you could see was little bumps flailing in the fabric and hear little chirp/squeaks. they were so proud of themselves that when they got back in the cage, they decided to wrestle. my little men are so cute!
Sora (So-La. formerly named Toru): he is the smaller of the two. his fear level is a little higher too, but he's also the one who spent the most time in my hood. he's a solid silver boy with black eyes. he is also a lazy bum <3
Kin (K-ee-n): bigger of the two. solid cream color with dark red eyes (light has to shine on them for you to notice). he's a butt head and I love him that way. they have just started taking treats. though they do not take them every time! so I put a few in their favorite spot, where Kin always steals and eats them before Sora can even realize they're there.
I have learned many things over the last few days, the most recent:
it is not a good idea to take a shower when sick and pressed for time. I managed to switch my shampoo with my body wash. on the plus side, my hair smelled like mango for at least a day. then I forgot to switch settings on the shower head and blasted my face with a strong jet of water.
this was, of course, right before dinner with my Grandmother. where I proceeded to be ill through out the dinner. such a pleasant dinner guest XD
so I think I might have to make this my primary journal again. I just can't get into blogger, but think I'll keep it around for family contact, etc. so I'm going to be cleaning house and making this a friends only journal...eventually (I'm so lazy!).
on the plus side, Aiko's new nick name is Bacon Butt. this has evolved from Aiko Baco, to Baco, to Bacon Butt. she seems to like it.
well...I'm thinking I may abandon this livejournal for blogger. most of my family uses blogger and I'd like to keep in touch with them. so I've created an account. I may or may not update this one sometimes... but anyhow, if you want to keep in touch via these journals, I'll still check ljs and you can have the blogger url if you'd like. woot.
so I've reached my tolerance level and it feels oddly good <3
I had typed a bunch more here. but those issues are between me and someone else. so I'll leave it at that.
Miki = the chubby baby rat I got after Violet passed. we're still bonding and she likes to make Aiko's feet bloody if Aiko has the nerve to get on top of the cage.
Aiko = I shouldn't play favorites, but she's my baby. she likes to climb on my glasses (while I am wearing them), try to pull out my nose piercing, and eat cheerios.
they also have a nice, fluffy rat hammock I ordered from here. I ordered two, but we're giving one a test run. Aiko thinks it means a new escape route. it's adorable, two rat paws up.
I feel sick. I just watched Violet die. at the same time, I'm glad I was awake. I hear her scurrying around, though I thought it was Aiko since Violet really hadn't been using the wheel in the last couple of days. but there she was, ready as ever for cuddles. but a matter of minutes later she started clicking and within the hour she died. she wasn't able to walk, she wasn't comfortable on my lap. so I set her next to me and seconds later she died. I know I haven't had her long, but I'd started to fall in love with the little bugger. she would waddle onto my hand when I opened the cage and just curl up on my collar bone. which was probably a sign of issues. I'm just glad I was able to make her comfortable.
I need to get pictures of my rats. Aiko = psycho, grey and white one. she likes to run around the cage and tackle her sister. solid brown one: nameless. still need name ideas. she's much quieter and likes to cuddle. she also loves her wheel.
